Hornet Field Hockey Upends Roanoke 3-0

SALEM, VA - As the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular season draws to a close and the conference tournament approaches, the Lynchburg College field hockey team took one more step towards home field advantage Tuesday evening with a 3-0 win at Roanoke College.

After a scoreless first half, LC struck twice just after intermission. Katie Kline opened the scoring at 38:22 with an unassisted tally and Kelsey Link followed less than two minutes later on a feed from Morgan Lammando. Lammando found the back of the cage herself at 46:47 on a feed from Kline to close out the scoring.

The Hornets outshot the Maroons 22-5 and held a 10-4 edge in penalty corners. Jordan Seeley earned her 12th win of the season with two saves to preserve the shutout. Candice Fisher made 11 saves for Roanoke (3-12/2-5 ODAC).

Lynchburg (12-4/6-0) can clinch the regular-season ODAC title, a first-round bye and home field advantage throughout the tournament with a win Saturday at Bridgewater College at 1 p.m.
