LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College softball team split a non-conference doubleheader Thursday with visiting Depauw University (IN), taking game one 4-1 and dropping game two 9-3.
Alli Dennie homered in the top of the second inning to put the Tigers up a run. LC tied the score in the bottom of the inning when Logan Walker singled to drive home Amber Ingram and took the lead with Olivia Donohue driving in Kayla St. John in the third. Nicole Riley and St. John singled in the fourth to plate runs and give the Hornets a 4-1 edge.
Senior Hope Johnson allowed just four hits and no walks with three strikeouts to pick up the complete game victory. St. John had two hits for LC.
