FOREST, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg softball team earned three All-ODAC selections for the 2026 campaign, the league office announced Thursday morning.
Lynchburg received one Second Team All-ODAC nod from senior infielder Georgia Thompson, along with two Third Team All-ODAC honorees in Sarah Watts and Alex Love.
Thompson concluded her collegiate campaign with a stellar senior season. The Chesapeake, Va., native set a new career best for batting average in a single season with a final mark of .385, more than .140 higher than her previous best. Thompson totaled 50 hits on the year, 12 of which went for extra bases. Defensively, Thompson notched her best fielding percentage in a season at .929 while holding down the hot corner. This marks her first career All-ODAC selection.
Watts earned All-ODAC honors for the third consecutive season after recording back-to-back First Team selections over the past two years. The standout infielder proved to be one of the top bats in the conference once again this season, finishing in the top five in home runs (8) and RBIs (39). Additionally, Watts drew an ODAC-best 35 walks and added a career-high 24 stolen bases, good for fifth most in the conference.
Love finished her sophomore season with a team-high batting average of .388, along with the sixth-most hits in the ODAC with 55. The Hornet outfielder received her first All-ODAC honor after experiencing a drastic uptick in production from her freshman campaign, finishing with 50 more hits than last season.
