Caroline Carozza Posts 13 Points in 22-8 win at Randolph
LYNCHBURG, VA – Junior attack Caroline Carozza delivered five goals and eight assists Saturday afternoon as the Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team defeated cross-town rival Randolph College 22-8 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.
LC out-scored the WildCats by identical 11-4 margins in each half. The Hornets opened the second stanza with an 8-0 surge to take a commanding 19-4 lead and put the game out of reach.
Carozza found the back of the net four times in the first half to go with two helpers, and added a goal and six assists after intermission.
Katherine Francis scored a career-high six goals, while Alexa Carey also had a hat trick. Dorrie MacGregor had a full stat line of two goals, two assists, seven draw controls and two ground balls. Katie Seidel scored twice, Laura Meisner posted a goal and an assist and Ryland Scott had two assists. Lindsay Parker, Shannon Brockley and Maddie Koontz also scored for the Hornets.
Hailey Bossert made five saves for LC.
Taylor Klevenz had seven goals and an assist for Randolph (3-10/1-6 ODAC).
Lynchburg (7-6/5-3 ODAC) hosts Roanoke College (6-2 ODAC) Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a game that will have a big influence on the seedings in the upcoming conference tournament.
