Kat Francis Scores Seven as Women's Lacrosse Rolls to 17-5 win over Va. Wesleyan
Virginia Beach, VA— Senior midfielder Kat Francis scored seven goals as the Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team defeated Virginia Wesleyan College 17-5 on Wednesday evening the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.
Lynchburg held a 40-10 shot advantage, and there were five other Hornets who scored.
Laura Meisner had three goals,
Maddie Koontz,
Alexa Carey, and
Haley Lochren each contributed two, while
Sidney Gleason found the back of the net once.
Alison Truman and Gleason each dished out one assist.
Rachel Henderson scooped up three groundballs, while
Treva Tyson had three groundballs and three saves, and
Marissa Dadura had four caused turnovers.
Megan Schallock led the Marlins (2-8/1-2 ODAC) with two goals, while Marie Lerch, Ashley Winslow, and Abby Shope each had one. Shannon Ruffalo picked up three groundballs, Madison Carroll and Schallock each had two. Carroll also had 14 saves for the Marlins.
The Hornets (7-3/3-1 ODAC) will return to action on Saturday when they host cross-town rival Randolph College at 2 p.m.
