The Hornets traveled to Atlanta, Ga. to play Emory on Friday where they split a double header.
Game 1 Breakdown
- Lynchburg struck first in the opening inning when sophomore Taylor Mabry doubled to right center to score sophomore Mackenzie Chitwood
- Emory would battle back with four runs in the third inning
- Chipping away were the Hornets in the fourth inning when a bases loaded walk brought in a run to cut the deficit to just 4-2
- Freshman Kayla Hugate and junior Skylar Dickens each had RBI singles in the fifth inning to tie the game at four
- In the sixth inning the Hornets put the game away with eight runs to mercy rule the Eagles
- Two runs were from Emory errors, followed by a Dickens single that brought in two RBIs
- Mabry drew a bases loaded walk that scored a run
- Senior Logan Walker hit a bases clearing double to left field to seal the 12-4 Hornet Victory
- Freshman Stephanie Hogan earned her fifth win of the season on the mound
Game 2 Breakdown
- Walker singled to score Dickens in the first inning to put Lynchburg up 1-0
- Answering back was Emory when a bases clearing double put the Eagles up 3-1
- Hogan would go on to pitch five scoreless innings
- The Hornets rallied as Mabry drove in Dickens off a sacrifice fly to left field to cut the lead to 3-2 but just couldn't get the tying run across

Lynchburg returns to action on Saturday when they play Centre College (Ky.) for a double header that is scheduled for 12 p.m.
