Around the Horn

The Hornets were in Atlanta, Ga. Saturday to play Centre College (Ky.) losing both games of the double header 2-0 and 6-1.

Game 1 Breakdown

- Junior Conner English got the nod in the first game, tossing 5.2 innings before allowing two Coronel runs in the bottom of the sixth inning

- Freshman Stephanie Hogan came in to get the last out

- Lynchburg was able to muster up five hits as a team

- Junior Skylar Dickens and senior Logan Walker had two hits each

Game 2 Breakdown

- After a scoreless first inning, Centre scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning but would not score the rest of the game

- Lynchburg scored in the bottom of the sixth inning when Walker drove in Mabry to cut the deficit to five

- Dickens handed in another great performance with three hits

Lynchburg returns home this Wednesday to play Guilford in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) double header, first game is slated for 2:30 p.m.
