Women's Lacrosse Comeback Falls Short to Randolph-Macon 14-12

The Hornets fell to the Yellow-Jackets of Randolph-Macon 14-12 despite a valiant comeback effort in the second half and a career-high five goals from senior Laura Meisner.

Game Breakdown

- Randolph-Macon jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first six minutes of the game

- The Hornets would answer when Meisner scored an unassisted goa at the 23:06 mark

- At the 23:31 and 20:22 marks, the Yellow-Jackets would add to goals to make it 5-1

- Meisner would score her second goal of the day at 19:45 to cut the deficit to three goals

- Freshman Kelsi Trevisan would score an unassisted goal to bring the Hornets to within two goals

- Another run was in store for the Hornets when junior Dorrie McGregor brought Lynchburg within three goals before Meisner added her fourth and fifth goals of the day with just 2:20 left in regulation

- The Yellow-Jackets found the back of the net with just 36 seconds left to secure the 14-12 victory
