Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team picked up its third Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory of the season Tuesday with a 19-1 victory over crosstown rival Randolph.
Five Hornets had multi-goal efforts in the win, led by junior attackman Alicia Sandoval (Montclair, Va.), who tallied three goals and three assists. She also caused three turnovers and picked up two ground balls. Sophomore attackman Carly Sandler (Kennebunk, Maine) also had a hat trick, and senior attackman Sidney Gleason (Dumfries, Va.) dished out four assists to go with a goal.
Sophomore midfielder Danielle Hook (Alexandria, Va.), senior midfielder Alison Truman (Kennebunk, Maine), and senior midfielder Dorrie MacGregor (Centreville, Md.) each had two goals. MacGregor also picked up a game-high eight draw controls.
Sophomore defender Erin Gardner (Stewartsville, N.J.) had a career day with five ground balls, four caused turnovers, and two draw controls, leading the Hornet defense to its best outing of the season. In all, LC forced 13 WildCat turnovers and won 16 of 21 draws.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lynchburg scored six times in the first five minutes -- two of them by Sandoval -- to take control of the match early.

Sandoval wrapped up her hat trick at the 11:32 mark in the first half on a free-position shot that made it 11-0, and Sandler scored the Hornets' next two goals for a hat trick of her own in the opening half. Gleason netted three assists in the half as well as Lynchburg led 14-0 at intermission.

Truman's second goal of the game with 24:05 to play opened the second-half scoring.

Randolph broke up the shutout on Hannah Bradley's goal with 9:55 remaining. Hook's second score brought the score to its final standing at the 34-second mark.
LOOKING AHEAD
Lynchburg will remain in ODAC play in a week when the Quakers of Guilford visit Lakeside Drive. First draw on Shellenberger Field for that April 17 contest will be at 6 p.m.
