Box Score Lexington, Va. -- Lynchburg College's women's lacrosse team played a tremendous first half to keep up with No. 11-ranked Washington and Lee, but the host Generals pulled away after halftime to secure a 24-9 Old Dominion Athletic Conference win.
Senior midfielder Dorrie MacGregor (Centreville, Md.) led the way for LC with a hat trick and six draw controls, while sophomore midfielder Kelsi Trevisan (West Chester, Pa.) and junior midfielder Hannah Creasey (Virginia Beach, Va.) each contributed a pair of scores.
Senior defender Rachel Henderson (Perry Hall, Md.) collected a game-high six ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lynchburg matched the defending national runners-up goal-for-goal in the early going, taking a 4-3 lead eight minutes into the match on freshman midfielder Maysn Whitten's (Charlottesville, Va.) goal.
- Washington and Lee scored the next five goals over a 10-minute period, but Lynchburg battled back with four of the final five scores in the half to trail 9-8 at intermission. MacGregor wrapped up her hat trick in the first half.
- The Generals took control after the break, extending the lead to 11-8 before Trevisan netted her second goal of the evening. W&L scored the final 13 goals of the game.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hornets will head back home next Tuesday, April 10 for a date with crosstown rival Randolph at 6 p.m. Lynchburg will celebrate The National Foundation for Cancer Research's Play4TheCure initiative at the contest.
