Box Score Winchester, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's lacrosse team rallied late but couldn't overcome a five-goal deficit in a 13-12 Old Dominion Athletic Conference loss to Shenandoah Saturday afternoon on the road.
Senior attackman Alicia Sandoval (Montclair, Va.) led Lynchburg with three goals and three assists, while junior attackman Kelsi Trevisan (West Chester, Pa.) chipped in a hat trick and an assist.
Senior defender Allie O'Leary (Salisbury, Md.) corralled eight draw controls to go with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Senior midfielder Kaliegh Ridgley (Reistertown, Md.) put Lynchburg up 1-0 early on Sandoval's assist, but Shenandoah rattled off a 5-0 run and led the rest of the way.

Lynchburg was able to cut the lead to 7-5 at halftime as Sandoval went into the break with two goals and two assists.

SU scored four straight goals early in second half to open up a 12-7, but Lynchburg stormed back. The visitors cut the lead to 12-10 with 8:21 remaining. Shenandoah added an insurance goal on a free-position shot with 6:16 to go and played solid defense down the stretch. Trevisan scored at the 1:42 and 7-second marks to cut it to one, but Lynchburg couldn't tie the game.

Lynchburg will play host to Roanoke in another ODAC battle Wednesday, April 3 at 6 p.m.
