Box Score Greensboro, N.C.-- The University of Lynchburg women's lacrosse team ended the regular season with a 20-5 victory over the Guilford Quakers Saturday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Senior attackman Alicia Sandoval (Montclair, Va.) led the Hornets with an impressive five goals, four assists, and two ground balls.
Junior attackman Carly Sandler (Kennebunk, Maine) also had a good game, collecting four goals and one assist. Junior attackman Kelsi Trevisan (West Chester, Pa.) and senior midfielder Hannah Creasey (Virginia Beach, Va.) each earned three goals of their own. Trevisan also racked up four assists and picked up a ground ball.
Junior goalie Emmy Yarmy (New Rochelle, N.Y.) held down the net with 13 saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lynchburg jumped on the Quakers early in the first quarter with a goal by Sandler assisted by senior midfielder Kaleigh Ridgley (Reistertown, Md.) in the first minute of play. Creasey scored on a free-position shot and gave Lynchburg a 7-2 lead in the early going.

Junior defensive player Erin Gardner (Stewartsville, N.J.) earned her first-career goal for the Hornets off a draw control win by senior Allie O'Leary (Salisbury, Md.). Sandler took advantage of Lynchburg's man-up opportunities and scored two more goals, one with an assist from Trevisan. Lynchburg ended the first half with a 17-4 lead.

The second half didn't have as much action, but the Hornets still managed to earn three more goals and finish the 20-5 win.
LOOKING AHEAD
Lynchburg enters the ODAC tournament as the No. 4 seed and will play host to fifth-seeded Shenandoah in first-round action on Wednesday, May 1. SU took the regular-season meeting between the two teams.
