Lynchburg (2-2) got on the board early thanks to a free-position goal by Carly Sandler in the first minute, kicking off a 6-0 Hornets run. Sandler finished with two goals and an assist, all in the first half, as the Hornets took a 12-2 advantage into the break.
Daniel kicked off the second half with back-to-back goals to help put the game out of reach, but a 6-0 scoring run by Hood (2-4) late in the period brought the score closer.
