Box Score Newport News, Va. -- The 23rd-ranked University of Lynchburg's women's lacrosse team fell on the road Wednesday to No. 25 Christopher Newport, 17-4.
CNU jumped out to an early lead with a pair of goals in the first 2:05 of the game and extended the run to 9-2 at halftime. The Captains put the game away with the first four goals of the second half.
Graduate student Kelsi Trevisan led the Lynchburg attack with a goal, an assist, and three caused turnovers. Nicki Santora, Alla Daniel, and Maysn Whitten also scored for the Hornets.
Freshman Tori King secured a team-high three draw controls and caused a turnover.
Lynchburg (3-2) will face another tough test Saturday when Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival and No. 3-ranked Washington and Lee visits Shellenberger Field for a 6 p.m. contest.
