Box Score Haines City, Fla. -- University of Lynchburg's women's lacrosse team battled against another ranked opponent Wednesday, falling 19-3 to No. 6 Franklin & Marshall Wednesday evening at the Feltrim Sports Village.
The Hornets fell behind 3-0 early, but a Nicki Santora goal and four first-quarter saves by Patricia Rogers kept Lynchburg in the game. F&M led 4-1 after 15 minutes of play.
The Diplomats took control in the second with seven unanswered goals, however, and cruised through the second half to victory.
Alla Daniel added Lynchburg's second goal of the game early in the fourth quarter, and Santora found the back of the net again late in the fourth.
Micah Slacum anchored the Hornet defense with three caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls, and Rogers made six saves through three quarters in net.
Lynchburg (2-3) will look to snap its three-game skid with a non-conference game against rival Roanoke College next Wednesday. First draw will occur at 7:15 p.m. on Shellenberger Field.
