Marshall, Texas -- The University of Lynchburg beach volleyball team defeated East Texas Baptist Friday night and lost to Mary Hardin-Baylor.
The Hornets took down ETBU 3-2.
Lynchburg dominated at the top two courts with wins from SJ Yanz and Mady Shirey at No. 1 and Kailey Keough and Jordan Palmer at No. 2.
Parker Lynch and Margo Fox beat their opponents on the fourth court as the Hornets earned their fifth win on the season.
Keough and Palmer played to three sets against UMHB. They won the first set 21-19 but lost the next two 18-21, 13-15.
Amanda Trapp and Mackenzie Ingrassia also played a close match against the Crusaders at No. 3 losing 16-21, 17-21.
Lynchburg's match against Ottawa scheduled for Friday morning was canceled after flights were delayed for the Hornet squad.
The Hornets (5-9) will play Ottawa and Oklahoma Wesleyan on Saturday, March 18.
