Box Score Granville, Ohio -- The University of Lynchburg women's lacrosse team dropped a high-scoring affair against Denison Sunday afternoon.
Freshman Sydney Dumas scored three goals with a pair of assists in the 21-13 loss, and freshman MJ Tucker made five saves in net.
After Denison opened the scoring, Lynchburg scored three-straight goals to take a lead. Senior Alla Daniel scored a player-up goal to cap off the run.
McKenna Steinau and Reagan Bednar scored as the Hornets concluded the first quarter tied with Denison 5-5.
Dumas scored Lynchburg's only goal of the second quarter, and the Big Red went into halftime with an eight-goal advantage. The freshman leads the Hornets with 10 goals on the season after her second-career hat trick.
The Hornets flipped the script on Denison in the third and outscored their opponents 5-1 after halftime. Lynchburg scored three goals while a player-up in the third.
Peyton Saville and Dumas scored back-to-back goals in the fourth, but Denison scored six more times in the final quarter to seal the victory.
The Hornets wrapped up their two-game road trip to Ohio and will return home for a matchup with Lebanon Valley on Saturday, March 11.
