Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's lacrosse team defeated Ferrum Wednesday night.
Tori King, Alla Daniel, and Payton Saville notched hat tricks in the 17-3 win.
The Hornets shut out Ferrum in the first half and held an 11-0 lead at the break. Paville and Daniel combined for two goals each to start the game. Daniel's second score came with the Hornets a player down.
King secured her hat trick with 5:09 remaining before halftime, and Daniel found the back of the net for a third time on Lynchburg's 11th goal.
Jordan Nilsen opened the scoring in the third quarter. She tallied her second goal of the day and has scored twice in both of Lynchburg's last two wins. King scored her team-leading and career-best fourth goal of the night three minutes after Nilsen.
The Panthers scored three times over the final 18 minutes of play, but Neely Morris and Reagan Bednar scored in between the Ferrum goals to secure a 17-3 victory.
Patricia Rogers, MJ Tucker, and Julia Broughton all recorded one save in the win while splitting time in goal.
Lynchburg was perfect on the clear for the third time on the season.
The Hornets host No. 2 Washington and Lee on Saturday, April 22.
