Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's lacrosse team dropped its home finale on against Washington and Lee Saturday afternoon.
Four Hornets scored in the 14-4 loss to the second-ranked Generals.
Jordan Nilsen opened the game with her fifth goal in the last three games.
Lynchburg's defense held onto the one-goal lead for three minutes led by Patricia Rogers in net. Rogers' second save of the day came on a free-position shot.
The Generals finally broke through with back-to-back goals midway through the first, but Neely Morris tied the game 2-2 on an assist from Alla Daniel.
Washington and Lee took a 4-2 lead by the quarter break and shut out the Hornets in the second. However, Rogers made three move saves in the quarter and kept Lynchburg close 5-2.
The Generals outscored the Hornets 9-2 in the second half. Libby Kennedy and McKenna Stienau scored the pair of goals for the Hornets in the third and fourth quarters.
Lynchburg (6-9, 4-3 ODAC) visits Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday, April 26 at 5 p.m. for its regular-season finale.
