Box Score 2 Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg softball senior Sophie Tully collected four RBI in Lynchburg's Game 2 win over Randolph Wednesday.
Tully powered the Hornets to a 5-2 win in Game 2, but the Hornets fell 4-1 in Game 1.
The WildCats got to the reigning Old Dominion Athletic Conference pitcher of the week Emily Charlton for two quick runs in the first. Randolph added runs in the 6th and 7th to keep pace over the Hornets.
Abby Lockhart's pinch-hit RBI in the 5th scratched the only run across for the Hornets in the loss.
Kailey Dorcsis pitched 6.1 innings in relief and struck out nine. Dorcsis previously struck out 10 in a win over Methodist on Feb. 26.
Gracie Dooley led Lynchburg with two hits in Game 1 marking her eighth multihit game of the season.
Dooley tallied her ninth contest with two or more hits in Game 2. She slashed three hits including an RBI triple in the 2nd: her second-career three-bagger.
Lynchburg faced another deficit to open the second game, but Tully quickly erased the two-run margin with a three-run double the opposite way in the bottom of the 1st.
She drove in her fourth RBI of the afternoon on a sacrifice fly in the 5th. Dooley scored on the play. She also stole her second base of the season in the game. Carly Hudnall leads the team with nine stolen bases.
Angela Sperandeo went the distance in the circle allowing two unearned runs on six hits with six Ks.
Lynchburg (15-11, 4-4 ODAC) travels up to Shenandoah for its next ODAC double-header on Saturday, April 8 beginning at 1 p.m.
