Women's lacrosse pours it on in Hill City rivalry

Box Score

Lynchburg, Va. -- Seven University of Lynchburg women's lacrosse players scored two goal each in the win over Randolph Wednesday evening.

Tori King was the first Hornet to secure her two-goal game in the 17-3 victory.

After McKenna Steinau scored on an assist from Virginia Heffernan to begin the game, Randolph quickly answered with the equalizer.

However, the WildCats did not score again in the first half as Lynchburg took off on a 12-goal run. Steinau, King, Sydney Dumas, Payton Saville, Alla Daniel and Reagan Bednar all tallied a pair of goals before the halftime whistle. Bednar tallied her first multigoal game since May 4, 2022.

Lynchburg scored once in the third quarter. Kayla Lainez scored her first point for Lynchburg when she assisted on Jordan Nilsen's score.

Mia Sullivan scored to begin the fourth, and Jenna Norko capped off the win with a pair of goals in the last five minutes of play.

Patricia Rogers started the game in goal and earned her second win of the season. MJ Tucker and Julia Broughton combined to close out the game for the Hornets between the pipes.

Neely Morris led the way with five draw controls, and Megan Wheeler caused a pair of turnovers. Morris has 20 draw controls on the season. Daniel leads the team with 46.

Lynchburg (4-6, 2-0 ODAC) travels to Shenandoah for its next conference contest on Friday, April 7.
