Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg softball team was knocked out of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship with a pair of one-run losses Saturday. 

After a win on Friday, Lynchburg was in the driver's seat headed into Day 2. However, the Hornets fell 5-4 against Roanoke and lost on a walk-off against Guilford in the elimination game.

In Game 1, the pod's host team, Roanoke, jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st. Amala Clawson took over in the first frame and got the final out of the inning. She held the Maroons scoreless in their next three trips to the plate. 

Olivia Herman homered in the 5th, but the Maroons kept rolling in the bottom half a pair of insurance runs.

Herman tallied two more RBI with a double, and Kaleigh Hackett brought Lynchburg within one with seeing-eye single in the 6th.

In the 7th, Sarah Watts and Gracie Dooley got on with singles. Karle Cundiff loaded the bases, but the game-tying hit evaded the Hornets, and they fell to the Maroons. 

Game 2 called for a rematch with the Quakers. Similar to the Friday matchup, both teams went scoreless in the first four innings. 

Madison Barnes recorded the first run with a pinch-hit single. 

As the Hornets tried to protect the one-run lead, Guilford tied the game up with a triple down the right field line. The Quakers walked it off in their next set of plate appearances and ended Lynchburg's ODAC run.
