Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team fell 9-0 to Asbury (Ky.) on Monday.
The Hornets dropped all three doubles matches by a 2-8 score to open play. Ashley Hair and Emma Pinola played together at No. 1, Reese McAtee and Jordan Ottaviano fell at No. 2, and Sarah Wood and Elizabeth Horine dropped their No. 3 matchup.
In singles play, Hair fell at the top flight, Pinola fell 1-6, 1-6 at No. 2, McAtee fell by the same results as Pinola at No. 3, Ottaviano fell at No. 4, and Horine dropped her match at the fifth flight. Prerana Bandhu made her debut for the Hornets on the sixth-singles court and fell in straight sets.
The Hornets (2-4) take on Saint Mary's (Ind.) on Wednesday, March 13.
