Mount Berry, Ga. -- The University of Lynchburg beach volleyball team fell in both of its matches Friday with a 3-2 loss to Hendrix and a 4-1 loss to Berry.
SJ Yanz and Amanda Trapp moved up and played as the No. 1 duo for the first time this season. Yanz and Trapp won in three sets against Hendrix. Kailey Keough and Jordan Palmer also won their match on the second court 21-16, 21-16. The pair of wins at the top-two courts mark Lynchburg's first victories against Hendrix. However, the Hornets lost on courts three, four, and five. The Hornets are still seeking their first overall victory over the Warriors.
In a 4-1 loss to Berry later Friday night, Kassie Menard and Lydia Nelson kicked off the match with a win on the fourth court. However, Berry won the other four matchups to secure the victory and hand Lynchburg its second loss of the day.
Lynchburg (6-6, 12-8 overall) takes on Huntingdon twice on Saturday, March 23 from Mount Berry, Ga. at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
