Pikesville, Md. -- The University of Lynchburg beach volleyball team defeated Lancaster Bible 5-0 and Erskine 3-2 on Friday.
In the blowout win over Lancaster Bible, Jordan Palmer and Kailey Keough made quick work of their opponents on the first court with a 21-5, 21-11 win. On the second court, Amanda Trapp and SJ Yanz also held their opponents under 10 points in a set, but it was part of a larger, three-set victory for the sophomores. After falling in the first set, Yanz and Trapp routed their opponents by 17, then won 15-10 in the extra set.
After Lynchburg dropped the first two sets in the match against Erskine, Yanz and Trapp clinched the match for the Hornets with another three-set victory. Palmer and Keough won at No. 1 as well, and Tori Williamson and Mady Shirey claimed a victory at No. 3, 18-21, 21-12, 15-11.
The Hornets (8-8 NCAA, 17-11 overall) take on Lancaster Bible and Stevenson on Saturday to wrap up the regular season.
