Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team fell to Washington and Lee 5-0 on Friday afternoon.
Lynchburg dropped all three doubles matches to the 16th-ranked Generals. Lauren Pascadlo and Ashley Hair fell 1-8 at No. 1 doubles. Emma Pinola and Jordan Ottaviano, the No. 2 doubles pairing, lost 0-8. Reese McAtee and Elizabeth Horine teamed up at No. 3 doubles, experiencing the same fate.
In singles play, only two matches were completed. Ottaviano fell in her match at No. 4 singles 0-6, 0-6. Pascadlo was blanked in her match at No. 1 singles. Pinola was down 0-3 in the second set of her match at No. 3 singles. She lost the first set 2-6. Hair was trailing 4-5 in a tight battle with Washington and Lee's Annie Jennings at the time of the clinch. McAtee and Horine were written in to play at the five and six seeds, respectively, but did not see the court since the match was clinched. This marks the eighth straight loss for the Hornets.
Lynchburg (2-9, 1-5 ODAC) will face Averett in Danville, Va. on Monday, April 8 after the match was rescheduled from March 2 due to weather.Â
