Men's Volleyball Head to Ashland for Two Weekend Games

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Hornets (2-1) are headed to Ashland this weekend for a matchup against Messiah (3-0) on Friday and Eastern (2-1) on Saturday.

The Hornets are coming off their first loss after picking up back-to-back wins in their first two games.

Messiah enters the weekend slate with an unblemished record through their first three contests. In their most recent match, the Falcons took down Nazareth in three sets. Alex Kagoro leads the team in scoring 75 kills through three games, averaging 6.3 PTS/S. Sophomore setter Brandon Sharp has also been an instrumental piece in the Falcon offense, averaging over 11 assists per set.

The Eastern Eagles head to the Macon Invitational after claiming a 3-0 sweep in their last match against Elizabethtown College. However, they will have one more contest on Thursday night against Wilkes University before heading to Ashland. First-year outside hitter Kaodi Wokocha leads the team in both points and kills through their first three games. Senior Max Bagileo has also made a key impact from the service line, collecting five aces.

Following these two road matches, the Hornets will return to Lynchburg for two contests in Turner on Feb. 1 against Averett and Marymount.
