Bridgewater, Va. – The University of Lynchburg men's and women's cross country teams fought to second-place finishes at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships hosted by Bridgewater College, including 13 individual all-conference honors.

Men's Race (8k)

Each of Lynchburg's top five Hornets in the men's race finished inside the top ten. While the Hornets' five scorers finished before Washington & Lee closed its scoring, the Generals' first and second-place finishers gave W&L a firm advantage in team standings.

The men's scoring swung in both directions throughout the race, including a tie between W&L and Lynchburg at the midway point. Nearing the finish line, Alex Jordan paced the Hornets up front and delivered a 25:45.2 performance. The sophomore made up 12 positions in the first half of the race and led the pack with over a mile to go.

Johnathan Cobb clocked 25:47.0 to finish fourth, while Randy White finished seventh with a 26:02.5 performance. Alex Paciello (26:06.6) and Aidan Riggle (26:14.7) placed ninth and 10th in back-to-back positions to seal Lynchburg's top-five finishers with 33 points.

Jordan, Cobb and White each earned All-ODAC First Team honors by placing inside the race's top seven. Paciello and Riggle earned All-ODAC Second Team honors, along with teammate Dylan McGraw who posted 26:36.2 for 14th place.

Jack Weddle finished 16th for 26:41.8, Draven Fernandez earned 20th with a 26:51.4 result and Mercer Alden clocked 26:54.6 for 21st to garner All-ODAC Third Team honors.

Women's Race (6k)

Lynchburg captured second place on the women's side with 68 points, trailing Washington & Lee who scored 21 points for the ODAC title.

The women's 6k stretched out quickly after the first loop around the course, though Delaney Saulsbury remained with the top pack throughout the race. The senior clocked 23:26.5 for 11th place and All-ODAC Second Team accolades.

Hannah Edwards earned the final second team position, crossing the finish line in 14th place for a 23:40.1 performance. 

Mya Baker posted 23:50.5 for 18th in the field, while Jordan DiRisio finished closely behind with 23:52.4 on the clock. The duo clinched All-ODAC Third Team honors with times inside the top-21 results.

Georgie Lanham closed the Hornets' scoring with a 23:58.9 effort, placing 22nd in the field.

The Hornets will continue training as they prepare for their next postseason competition: the NCAA South Region Championships.

Roanoke College will host the meet, and the first-place team will earn an automatic bid to advance to the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
