Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg beach volleyball team is set to travel to Jefferson City, Tenn. for four matchups against Carson-Newman, Florida State College at Jacksonville, and Southern Virginia twice.
The Hornets will face Florida State College at Jacksonville and Southern Virginia for the first time in program history. Lynchburg and Carson-Newman squared off in 2023, which the Eagles won in 5-0 fashion.
This is Southern Virginia's first season as a program. The Knights consist of seven freshmen, five sophomores, and one junior.
Carson-Newman finished last year's regular season with a record of 20-16. The Eagles season ended in the Beach Championships - Silver Bracket against Tusculum.
Carson-Newman was tabbed first overall in the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches Poll. Seniors Paige Halcrow and Jenny Ille were named as the SAC Pair to Watch after a 12-3 record together last season.
Florida State College at Jacksonville ended last year's season 0-9. The program returns two sophomores from last year's debut season, Hana Roberts and Abigail Bucci, and added 12 freshmen.
The University of Lynchburg beach volleyball team is set to commence its third season. The Hornets concluded their 2024 campaign season with a 10-11 record, which included a second-place finish in the silver bracket against Hendrix.
The Hornets return 11 players and add five new additions to the roster. Amanda Trapp and SJ Yanz were key players for the Hornets last season, going 21-7 as a pair.
The first match of the weekend for the Hornets will be on Friday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. against Southern Virginia.
