Fayetteville, N.C. -- The Lynchburg women's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season on the road against Methodist, 9-5.
Sydney Dumas recorded a hat trick with three goals on six shots.
Neely Morris tallied three points with two goals and an assist to accompany her four draw controls and two caused turnovers.
Meredith Bornholdt had a stellar performance with a team-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
The Hornets pelted Methodist with shots from the opening team quarter. Lynchburg tallied a total of 31 shots in the contest, with six or more in each quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Hornets began to create separation from the Monarchs. Lynchburg fired off 11 shots in the final frame and scored five goals.
Alexis Senn had a key role for the Hornet in goal, saving five shots on the afternoon.
Lynchburg now turns to Guilford on Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Greensboro N.C. before returning home to face No. 6 Washington & Lee.
