Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's lacrosse team is set for its first conference competition of the season when it travels to Guilford on Tuesday, February 25 at 4 p.m.
The Hornets (1-1, 0-0) were originally slated to open the season at the Quakers' place, but due to inclement weather conditions, the contest was postponed. Now, Lynchburg heads into the matchup following a 9-5 victory against Methodist this past Saturday. Junior attack

McKenna Steinau also tallied three-point performances with two goals and one assist apiece.
Since 2003, Lynchburg owns a 17-6 advantage in the series against Guilford. Each of the last six affairs between these two squads have resulted in victories for the Hornets, most recently with a 19-4 finish on March 30, 2024. The last win for the Quakers was on March 29, 2017, where they nipped the Hornets, 13-12.
Guilford comes into tomorrow's outing with a 1-2 overall record, having lost each of its last two affairs to Oglethorpe and Washington & Lee. Through three games, freshman middie Carm DeFeo tops the squad in points with four, all goals. Graduate midfielder Maggie Hartnett is close behind with three goals, all in the squad's last competition against Oglethorpe.
Sophomore midfield Emma Garland also has three goals this season for the Quakers. In the cage this year is a freshman, Kennedy Gates, who has had a somewhat rocky start to her collegiate career with a .257 save percentage through three games.
For the Hornets, Morris is the leading point-getting through two games with three goals and two assists. Senior defender
Meredith Bornholdt has ben a leader on the defensive end, accruing six caused turnovers and nine ground balls in the early goings of the 2025 campaign. Sophomore netminder
Alexis Senn is spending her first season at Lynchburg and currently has 13 stops and 18 goals allowed for a save percentage of .419.
Following tomorrow's game, the Hornets will return home to square off against top-ranked Washington & Lee on Tuesday, March 4 at 4 p.m.
