Lynchburg, Va. -- Sophomore guard
Michael Gray has been named to the All-ODAC Third Team for his performance during the 2024-25 season.
This is the first Hornet to be tabbed as an All-Conference selection since 2022 (T.C. Thacker & Tharon Suggs)
Gray averaged a team-leading 12.7 PPG along with 2.1 APG and 1.0 SPG. The Upper Marlboro, Md. native increased his production from a season ago in every statistical category.
In his freshman season, Gray averaged six minutes a contest and 1.9 PPG. Towards the midway mark of this year, Gray began to take on a much bigger role in the Lynchburg rotation. Since 12/29/24 Gray has started every game for the Hornets. Since joining the starting lineup, Gray scored double-figures in 12 of the 16 games. Additionally, the shot-creating guard scored 20 or more on six different occasions, including a career-high 31 points and seven three-pointers against Hampden-Sydney.
Throughout the season Gray made his money from beyond the arc, cashing in on 2.1 three-pointers a game, good for fifth-best in the ODAC this season.
Gray also showcased phenomenal perimeter defense throughout his sophomore campaign, recording 2 or more steals in seven games this year. In the past five games, Gray has recorded a total of 11 steals, three coming in their latest win over Hampden-Sydney.
After taking down the second-seeded No. 7 Hampden-Sydney Tigers, Gray, and company head to Salem, Va. for an ODAC semifinal affair against the Roanoke Maroons this Saturday, March, 1.
