Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg beach volleyball is set to travel right down the road to play four matches in total this weekend. They face off against Liberty University to take on Liberty's club team, the Lancaster Bible club team, Carson Newman, and Southern Virginia.
The Hornets (3-1) look forward to a weekend in the Hill City after last weekend's games were unfortunately canceled due to weather.
The Hornets first take on the Lancaster Bible Chargers (0-0). The Hornets took on the Chargers three times last year and did not lose a single set against them, going 15-0. This is Lancaster Bible's second year as a club team as they look to turn things around after a tough season last year of going 2-10.
Next, the Hornets face off against the Liberty Flames (7-4). The two teams faced off twice last year with the Flames taking both matches. Liberty is coming into the weekend on a four game skid, looking to turn things around.
On Saturday, March 1, the Hornets first face off against the Carson Newman Eagles (5-3). This will be the second time these teams have faced off together. They played earlier in the season with the Eagles taking that game, 4-1.
The second game of the day will be a bout with the Southern Virginia Knights (1-3). The Hornets have experience against the Knights this year as they played each other for the Hornets' season opener and the fourth match of opening weekend. Those two matches came out in favor of the Hornets, 5-0, 4-1.
The first match of the weekend for the Hornets is set to commence on Friday, February 28 at 4 p.m. against Lancaster Bible.
