Lake Wales, Fla -- The Lynchburg women's lacrosse team picked another win in dominant fashion, taking down Warner University, 20-1, on the road.
Junior attack Mckenna Steinau scored a game-high four goals on the night, her second consecutive four-goal performance. Steinau has scored multiple goals in the last five affairs and leads the team with 15 through six games.
Sydney Dumas also tabbed a second consecutive hat trick, netting three goals.
Senior midfielder
Reagan Bradley led the squad with five points, tallying a career-high three assists along with two goals.
Meredith Bornholdt finished with a team-high three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Lynchburg began the game by pelting the Warner goalkeeper. The Hornets rattled off 16 shots in the first frame, leading to seven unanswered goals.
Warner responded to begin the second quarter, notching their first goal of the evening. However, Lynchburg regained momentum quickly with a strong advantage with draw controls. Lynchburg gathered all eight draw controls in the second quarter and went on another 7-0 run.
With a 14-1 lead after the intermission, Lynchburg ultimately sealed the game with four more goals in the third and two in the fourth.
The Hornets (4-2) stay down south for another contest at Warner in a neutral contest against Otterbein (1-4) on Wednesday, March 12, at 11 a.m.
