Box Score Lake Wales, Fla. -- The Hornets concluded their trip to the sunshine state with another dominant victory, defeating Otterbein 24-2.
Junior attack
Sydney Dumas led the charge, netting five goals for the fourth time in her collegiate career.
Neely Morris tabbed a season-high four goals and one assist, tying Dumas as the team's points leader.
Mya Hausauer notched her first hat trick of the season with three goals and one assist.
McKenna Steinau led the squad with three assists on the afternoon.
In the first quarter, the Hornets came out strong, scoring two goals in the first five minutes of the game. Alyssa Glenn then cut into the deficit with the first goal of the affair for the Cardinals. The Hornets then scored four unanswered goals before Glenn found the backnetting once again.
Lynchburg grabbed one more goal to conclude the first quarter as time expired. For the final 45 minutes of the game, it was all Lynchburg. The Hornets closed out the half with five more goals. With a 12-2 advantage coming out of the intermission, Lynchburg added seven more goals to their total in the third quarter and another five in the fourth.
The Hornets dominated possession throughout the matchup, out-shooting the Cardinals 44-5. Otterbein struggled to build momentum with 18 turnovers, while Lynchburg was limited to four.
Lynchburg (5-2) now heads back to the Hill City for an ODAC affair against Ferrum (2-1) on Tuesday, March 18.
