Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg men's volleyball team returns to conference play this week with a home match against Randolph-Macon on Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m.
The Hornets (9-9) and Yellow Jackets (14-8) squared off earlier this season in Ashland, which ended in a 3-0 Randolph-Macon win.
The Yellow Jackets enter this affair on a two-game losing streak, falling to No. 4 Stevenson in three sets and RV Stevenson in five frames. Nevertheless, Randolph-Macon is still unblemished in conference play, having beaten all six of its ODAC opponents thus far.
Ian Wagenhauser spearheads a dominant offensive attack for Randolph-Macon, averaging 3.4 kills/set - the second-best in the conference. The Junior outside hitter is accompanied by middle blocker Phillip Van Essendelft and right-side hitter Bryce Matthews both averaging 2 or more kills/set.
Lynchburg comes into this contest with wins in five of their last seven matches. The ODAC leader in hitting percentage,
Bryce Jackson is coming off an ODAC defensive player of the week performance.
Nick Redding, who sits at third in the conference for kills, is fresh off of an ODAC offensive player of the week campaign as well.
Following this matchup, Lynchburg will stay at home for another conference clash on Saturday, March 15, hosting Eastern Mennonite.
