Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's lacrosse team is set for a neutral contest against the Otterbein Cardinals on Wednesday, March 12, at Warner University.
Otterbein (1-4) heads into this matchup with a three-game losing skid, falling to Oglethorpe, 16-6, in their most recent game. Their sole victory of the season came against Wittenberg in a 13-11 final.
The Cardinal's offensive attack is led by the one-two punch with leading disruptor Ava Robey, tallying 14 assists this year, and leading goal scorer Alyssa Glenn, recording 20 goals through four games. Glenn has scored a hat trick in every appearance this season, including six goals against Ohio Wesleyan. Robley has notched multiple assists in each game this season, with a season-high of five against Transylvania. The Junior attackman is also second on the team with nine goals.
The Hornets (4-2) come into this affair with back-to-back dominant wins. In their last two games, Lynchburg has outscored their opponents 26-4, including a 20-1 win last time out against Warner University.
McKenna Steinau and Sysndye Dumas have led the charge offensively for Lynchburg with a combined 29 goals and five assists.
Lynchburg's ability to seize momentum in contests with their ability to win draw controls has been a critical difference maker.
Neely Morris leads the way in that category with 21 on the season, followed by
Mya Hausauer collecting 14.
Following this matchup, Lynchburg returns home for a conference clash against the Ferrum Panthers (2-1) on Tuesday, March 18.
