Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's lacrosse team grabbed their fourth consecutive win, taking down Ferrum, 18-2.
McKenna Steinau and
Neely Morris scored five goals a piece. This mark tied a career high for Steinau and was the third time that Morris has reached five or more goals in a game. Morris also lead the team in assists, dishing out two on the evening.
The Hornets began the contest quickly, Morris scoring in the opening 20 seconds of the affair. Lynchburg notched seven goals in the opening 15 minuets to take control of the contest.
In the second frame, Morris and Steinau would tab a hat trick and Lynchburg added five more goals to their total. nevertheless, in the final stages of the first half, the Panthers got on the board with a goal from Lana Barcovic.
The Hornets maintained control throughout the second half as well, continually causing turnovers and picking up lose balls. Lynchburg tallied 10 caused turnovers and 19 ground balls on the evening,
Sydney Dumas led the squad with three in each category.
Lynchburg scored six more goals unanswered in the final 30 minuets. Then, once again, Lana Barcovic closed it out with another Panther goal.
The Hornets (6-2) now turn to Ashland, Va. for a matchup with the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets (6-1) on Saturday, March 22.
