Lynchburg, Va. — The Hornets men's volleyball team is set to host Roanoke and Bethany for a weekend round-robin tournament on Saturday, March 8.

Lynchburg (8-8) will open the showcase with a conference matchup against Roanoke (13-7) at noon. The Maroons enter the contest riding a five-game winning streak, including victories over three ODAC opponents. In their most recent outing, Roanoke swept Virginia Wesleyan in straight sets in Virginia Beach.

The Maroons have been one of the most potent offensive teams in the conference this season, averaging 11.35 kills per set with an attacking percentage of .215.

Following a neutral-site match between Bethany (1-11) and Roanoke, the Hornets will return to the court to take on the Bison. Bethany arrives in Hill City on a 10-game losing streak, most recently falling to Chatham in straight sets.

Freshman outside hitter Riley Burdett leads Lynchburg in kills this season with 92, more than double the team's next-highest kill leader.

The Hornets' young core has begun to find its rhythm, winning four of their last five matches. In their most recent outing, Lynchburg secured its first road conference victory of the season with a 3-0 sweep of Averett.

Jeremiah Costello and Nick Redding both rank in the ODAC's top 10 for points per set, with Redding standing out as one of the conference's most prolific scorers at third overall.

Following this weekend, Lynchburg will host their penultimate home game of the season against Randolph-Macon (14-6), on Wednesday, March 12.
