Lynchburg, Va. -- After a two week hiatus, the Lynchburg men's volleyball team returns to play on Wedmesday, Apil 2, to challenge Roanoke and Southern Virginia.
In their first match of the evening, the Hornets take on a Roanoke Maroons (20-9) squad that defeated them in four sets earlier this season in Turner. The Maroons have been an extremely efficient squad on the offensive end, and stout of the defensive end.
Roanoke sports three student-atheletes in the top 10 of the conference for hitting percentage: Dominic Wheaton (2nd), Cade Kinne (5th), and Pierce Faulcon (8th).
Libero Kaeden Nobel leads the ODAC in digs this season with 290 over 101 sets this year. Additionally, middle blocker Colin Mendoza has tabbed the second most blocks in the ODAC with 93.
For their second contest of the evening, Lynchburg takes on Southern Virginia (26-1).
The Knights have been one of the top teams in the nation this season, opening up the season with 25 straight wins. Last years team finished 29-1 and concluded their season in the NCAA quarterfinal.
SVU has won 15 sets against its ODAC opponents this season, still yet to drop one.
The Hornets enter this doubleheader on a three game losing skid. Lynchburg has gone 2-8 this season in conference play, both wins coming against Averett.
Following this affair, Lynchburg will have one match remaining at Randolph (17-22) on Saturday, April 5.
