Hornets Head to Sweet Briar

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's lacrosse team is back on the road for another two game road stint, begging with Sweet Briar on Wednesday, Apirl 2, at 7 p.m.

The Hornets have handily controlled the series between the two, winning the last ten matchups - including a 21-5 victory in their most recent contest in 2015.

The Sweet Briar Vixens (0-6) are still searching for their first win this season. Junior attack Victoria Schofield has led the offensive efforts with a team-leading 13 goals and one assist. Defender Jamison Tarver has also been a critical piece for the Vixen with 17 caused turnovers.

Lynchburg comes into this contest with wins in six of their last seven games, the sole outlier being a one goal loss at Randolph-Macon. During this stretch, the Lynchburg offense has been fully charged, recording 20 or more goals in four games.

Sydney Dumas leads the team with 31 goals thus far, good for 5th best in the ODAC. McKenna Steinau is right behind Dumas with 28 goals, the 8th most in the conference, and with 11 assists. Two Hornets sit in the top-ten in the conference for assists, both Reagan Bradley and Neely Morris with 12 this year.

Goalkeeper Alexis Senn and the Hornets defense has allowed a conference best 4.31 goals per game.

Following this affair, the Hornets will head to Bridgewater for another conference game against the Eagles (7-4) on Saturday, April 5.
