Women's Lacrosse Welcomes Averett

Lynchburg, Va. — The Lynchburg women's lacrosse team returns to Shellengberger Field for an ODAC matchup against Averett on Wednesday, April 9, with opening draw set for 7 p.m.

The Hornets have dominated the series, winning the last eight meetings between the programs dating back to 2004. Last season, Lynchburg rolled to an 18-3 victory over the Cougars.

Averett (3-3) enters Wednesday's contest coming off a 22-17 loss to EMU. The Cougars' offense has shown flashes of explosiveness, scoring 17 or more goals in four games, while being held to one goal or fewer in the other two.

The offensive attack is led by Faith Bowlin, with major contributions from Cayden Holdsworth and Porsha Davis. The trio has combined for nearly 73% of the Cougars' total points this season. Bowlin leads the team with 38 goals and eight assists, averaging 7.6 points per game.

Bowlin was recently named ODAC Offensive Player of the Week after racking up 23 points—19 of them goals—across two games. Her standout performance came in a 13-point effort against Randolph College, falling just three points short of one of the top single-game totals in program history.

Lynchburg (10-3) has won eight of its last nine contests. The Hornets' most recent win, a four-goal decision over Bridgewater, marked their narrowest margin of victory in that stretch. Lynchburg currently boasts the best scoring margin in the ODAC at +10.

Three Hornets—Sydney Dumas, McKenna Steinau, and Neely Morris—have each tallied over 30 goals this season, all ranking in the top 12 in the conference. The offense has also thrived through ball movement, with four players recording double-digit assists, led by Morris with a team-high 16.

Following Wednesday's game, Lynchburg will hit the road to face Shenandoah on Saturday, April 12
