Ashland, Va. – The University of Lynchburg men's and women's swimming programs were well represented on the 2024-25 VaSID Swimming All-State Teams, earning numerous honors across both squads. The men's team collected four First Team selections in two events, along with one additional swimmer and four events on the Second Team. On the women's side, Lynchburg earned two First Team individual selections and added four swimmers and three events to the Second Team list.
On the men's side, the 200-yard medley relay team of Maximo Jacquet, Ryan Bambrick, Miles West, and Will Kasemeyer earned First Team honors with a time of 1:30.47. Jacquet also claimed First Team recognition individually in the 100-yard backstroke after clocking a personal best of 50.47.
Kasemeyer and West also earned individual Second Team honors. Both were recognized for their performances in the freestyle sprints. West posted a 20.70 in the 50-yard freestyle at the ODAC championship, while Kasemyer recorded times of 21.15 in the 50-yard free and 46.42 in the 100-yard free. West also picked up a Second Team nod in the butterfly, finishing with a 22.95 in the 50-yard fly and 49.62 in the 100-yard fly.
Ahmad Woodson rounded out the men's Second Team selections following a standout junior campaign in the distance freestyle events. At the ODAC championships, he posted a 16:23.71 in the 1650-yard free and a 4:42.90 in the 500-yard free.
On the women's side, Sienna Schmeck and Eliza Fleenor were named to the First Team. Schmeck earned First Team honors in the freestyle sprints, capping off an outstanding first collegiate season that included two program records—1:54.07 in the 200-yard freestyle and 7:53.70 in the 800-yard freestyle relay—as well as ODAC titles in both the 100- and 200-yard freestyle. Fellow first-year standout Fleenor secured First Team recognition in the breaststroke, finishing the 100-yard event in 1:06.58.
The quartet of Savy Borroughs, Madelyn Foreman, Sophia Schorr, and Schmeck earned Second Team honors in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.64. Foreman also picked up individual Second Team recognition in the 100-yard butterfly (58.82), while Abigail Schneider closed out the Hornets' All-State accolades with a Second Team nod in the individual medley, posting a 4:39.52.
