Field Hockey Welcomes Susquehanna in NCAA Tournament Rematch

Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg field hockey team hosts Susquehanna in a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournamnet matchup on Saturday, Sept. 20. 

Last season, the two sides met for the only games in their program history. The Hornets won both contests, 3-1 in the regular season and 2-1 OT in postseason. 

Lynchburg (3-2) is coming off a narrow, 0-1, defeat to No. 13 Ursinus in a neutral site competition. Both of the Hornets' losses this season have come at the hands of top-15 opponents. 

The Lynchburg offense has operated by committee this season, with four student-athletes recording a pair of goals. Shay Scoones has been a pivotal piece for the Hornets thus far, notching a top-three save percentage in the ODAC at .800. 

Susquehanna (2-4) enters this affair with three losses in their last four games, most recently falling to Bryn Mawr 1-2 on the road. 

The River Hawk's offense has opperated in similar fashion to the Hornets', three players tabbing two goals and one assists to tie for the points leader this season. 

Mady Quigley headlines the Susquehanna unit, returning for her second season with after an All-Landmark First Team , All-Landmark Rookie of the Year, and All-Region selection in her freshman campaign in 2024. 

Following this contest, Lynchburg will have another ranked neutral site matchup against No. 14 York at Sweet Briar College on Sept. 27.
