HOMER, Ga. – University of Lynchburg women's golf wrapped up play at Chimney Oaks Golf Club with a sixth-place team finish, highlighted by a runner-up performance from Grace Saunders.
Saunders paced the Hornets throughout the three-round event, finishing at 5-over par with a 221. The senior opened the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 73 before closing with a 75 to claim second place individually.
The Lynchburg standout carded nine birdies across the tournament, recording three in each round. Saunders turned in a 38 on the front nine and a 35 on the back during her opening round before playing an even-par back nine in Round 2. She closed the tournament with a 39 on the front and an even-par 36 on the back in the final round.
Madison Bartra was the next Hornet on the leaderboard, finishing 27th at 38-over with a 254. Bartra posted rounds of 81, 86 and 87 over the three-day event.
Eliza Rademaker followed in 30th place, finishing at 50-over with a 266. Rademaker opened with an 87 and matched that score in the second round before wrapping up the tournament with a 92.
Olivia Radford placed 33rd after recording a three-round total of 275 (+59). Radford posted an 89 in the opening round, followed by rounds of 92 and 94.
Alyssa Radzinski rounded out Lynchburg's five-player lineup, placing 35th at 65-over with a 281. Radzinski carded rounds of 90, 96 and 95.
Competing as an individual, Ashley Picha finished 37th with a 286 (+70). Picha improved from a first-round 94 to a 95 in Round 2 before closing with a 97.
As a team, Lynchburg finished at 152-over, recording rounds of +42, +50 and +60 over the three rounds. Huntingdon claimed the team title at 56-over, while Methodist finished second at 86-over.
