FOREST, Va. -- University of Lynchburg senior Grace Saunders was named the ODAC Women's Golfer of the Week following her runner-up performance at Chimney Oaks Golf Club, the league office announced this week.
The honor marks the second ODAC weekly award of Saunders' collegiate career. She also earned the conference's weekly recognition on April 8, 2026, making her the recipient of Lynchburg's two most recent ODAC Women's Golfer of the Week honors.
Saunders led the Hornets throughout the three-round tournament, finishing second individually with a 5-over-par 221. She opened the event with consecutive rounds of 73 before closing with a 75 in the final round.
Consistency highlighted Saunders' performance across the tournament. She recorded nine birdies, tallying three in each round, while finishing just five strokes over par across 54 holes.
Saunders opened the tournament with a 38 on the front nine before firing a 35 on the back to finish with a 73. She matched that score in the second round, including an even-par 36 on the back nine, before closing the event with a 75.
Her runner-up finish helped Lynchburg place sixth in the team standings over the three-round tournament.
