Louisville, Ky. -- Following a spectacular showing at the Callum Robinson Mustang Classic, attackman
Riley Hastings was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association DIII Team of the Week, announced by the USILA on Wednesday.
Against two nationally-ranked top-10 teams in the country, Hastings put on an offensive clinic with 21 total points on 13 goals and eight assists. He led the then-ranked No. 4 Hornets to a 22-21 victory against then-ranked No. 2 Christopher Newport, setting the program record for points and netting the game winner with 31 seconds to go. He followed up with eight points the next day against then-ranked No. 9 Gettysburg with five goals and three assists.
The Hornets take on the Averett Cougars this evening for their first ODAC competition of the season in Danville, Va. at 7 p.m.
