New Orleans – Following the conclusion of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala., Lamont Victoria earned multiple honors as the South Region Track Athlete of the Year and Field Athlete of the Year, while Director of Track & Field Mario Wilson was named the South Region Men's Coach of the Year after his first season.

Victoria earns the track athlete award after becoming the first Hornet to ever clinch a national title in the men's 60-meter dash. His 6.71 performance in the final bested the field by a mere thousandth of a second, and Victoria's 6.70 preliminary performance was a personal best and conference record.

The senior also placed second in the men's high jump at the NCAA Championships, clearing 6' 11½" (2.12m). Victoria secured the conference record in the event with a 7' ½" (2.15m) leap at the Rockingham Collegiate Classic in February.

Director Mario Wilson led the men's team to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, while the Hornets produced five All-American first team performances. Lynchburg clinched its fifth consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference title with 187.5 points, while the men's team erased three conference records throughout the season.
