Lisle, Ill. -- University of Lynchburg pitcher
Logan Tapman was named the DIII Pitcher of the Week by the National College Baseball Writer's Association, announced on Thursday afternoon.
Tapman receives the award following his 13-strikeout no-hitter against Hampden-Sydney last week. The reigning ODAC Pitcher of the Week receives national recognition for his spectacular performance.
Not only did the senior throw a no-no, but he tossed eight of his 13 strikeouts in the first three frames, including the first three batters of the affair. On the season, Tapman has totaled 48 strikeouts in seven appearances, which ranks fifth across the country in division III.
The baseball team is set to take on ODAC foe Roanoke for a double header on the home field on Saturday, March 28, starting at noon.
