Forest, Va. -- University of Lynchburg baseball players
Tyler Kaltreider and
Jack Pokorak were selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Baseball Athletes of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.
Pokorak was tabbed as the ODAC Player of the Week following an incredible 16-RBI performance over four games this past week, including nine against Roanoke. In the second game of a double header against the Maroons, Pokorak launched two home runs, one of which was a grand slam. His nine RBI game tied for the second-most in the nation this season. In that contest, he did not allow a run and had just three hits on him in 24 batters faced. He tallied seven strikeouts in the competition as well and walked two batters. On the year, the senior has the fifth-best ERA in the conference at 2.88 and has thrown the 11th-most strikeouts in DIII with 47 total.Â
The baseball team is currently preparing for a midweek matchup against Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday, April 1 at 3 p.m. on Fox Field.
